Announcing the new Quarterly Teams Challenge

To kick start April, we announced our 2nd Quarterly Challenge of 2024 - laser tag!

Laser tag is a shooting game, where two teams battle it to the end (of the allotted time, not death), with the winners being the team to shoot the other team the most.

Our New York team were first out of the stocks this quarter, landing a total of 226 points, with Gary Davies reigning in the solo leader board.

Free Friday Drinks with our four-legged pals

It's that time of the month again folks - free Friday drinks at the National with our beloved furry friends.

With the evenings beginning to stretch, and the ground starting to dry, long social evenings are finally coming into their own again! This month we were joined by Penny, Polly and Ace, and everyone settled into their complementary drinks for a lovely break from the work week.

Conquering Slieve Doan: A Mournes Hike Adventure

With Spring FINALLY springing this month, we were able to complete our first Mournes Hike of the year on Saturday 20th.

This time, our DI adventurers took on Slieve Doan (whilst it isn't the largest peak of the Mournes, it does present some of the prettiest views!). We were joined by a few furry friends, and funds were raised for the Almost Home Animal Rescue Charity.

Thank you Mollie for organising the hike and for everyone who took on the challenge.

Home baking and Coffee Catch-Ups

As part of our drive to support employee wellness, we're now hosting a monthly "coffee catch-up" in the Belfast office, to encourage people to take a moment away from the screens to enjoy a coffee and chat with others in the office.

This month, we took this opportunity to support the Stand up To Cancer charity, and people brought in home bakes to enter into a prize draw to win a themed apron! Some tasty bakes were brought along, but Jack took the crown with his delicious mars bars squares! Watch out folks, the bar has been set for future catch-ups!

Congrats to Jack for his win, and thanks to Cara for organising, and to everyone who attended.

Earth Day and The Big Spring Clean

This year, Data Intellect is diving headfirst into community and environmental action!

To celebrate Earth Day (April 22nd), a team of us jumped into the fray and joined a local litter pick at Belfast City Hall. The event was part of the Live Here Love Here Big Spring Clean campaign, hosted by the wonderful environmental charity, Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful.

For two hours, our team scoured the streets of Belfast, lifting cups, bags, plastics, and an unholy amount of cigarette butts - Now we've honed our litter picking skills, you can believe we will be doing this again! Stay tuned as we gear up for more environmental challenges across the regions, all aimed at making our world a cleaner, greener place.

A Huge shout out to KNIB for putting on an amazing event, and to all our litter-picking warriors who showed up and showed out!

Tipping the Scales for the South Belfast Foodbank Collection

Data intellect
As you may be aware, last month, we organized a food bank collection for the South Belfast Foodbank, which was a great success! Building on that momentum, we chose to continue our efforts in April, and by the month's end, we gathered an impressive 40.15kg of food donations!

This outstanding achievement is a testament to the generosity of our employees. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this fantastic cause!

Sips in Singapore for the Monthly meetup

To close the month, the Singapore team got together for a lovely meal and some drinks! (Is it just me feeling jealous of the warm Singaporean climate??)

That’s all from us this month folks!

Stay tuned for next month’s social blog (we have LOTS in store for May!) In the mean time, follow our social channels for more updates on life at Data Intellect. Ciao!
