Welcome back to our monthly blog on life at Data Intellect, where we bring you the latest regional updates on social activities in the company. Each month, we’ll dive into our regular outings, social clubs, quarterly team challenges, community/charity events and much more!
Charity Poker Night
This month we hosted Data Intellect's inaugural charity poker event! With the perfect blend of luck and skill (and some probability thrown in to satisfy the mathematicians) the event was very popular!
With everything to play for (mostly just bragging rights) the field of competition was slowly whittled down, with big wins coming from calculated bets, and some people losing it all based on some ill-advised decisions (who goes all in with a 3 and an 8?)
In the end, the final showdown was between Joseph and Aaron, with Aaron coming from behind a large chip deficit to win it all! With all proceeds going to charity, we were able to raise £90 for Alzheimer's research UK! A huge thank you to everyone who took part and donated!

Free Friday Drinks
Free Friday Drinks was back at the regular time this month, with a whole host of new faces looking to soak up the last of the summer sun! As we move closer into autumn and closer to the dreaded cold weather, why not warm yourself up with pizza and pints at the Sunflower next month!
Quarterly Teams Challenge
This Quarter's Team Challenge was axe-throwing, and this quarter, we truly went global! For the first time ever, Data Intellect have a team out in Toronto, and they thought they would take a crack at it!
This was one of two teams to submit scores this month, alongside a team from Belfast! Taking a look at the leaderboard, The Toronto Tough Guys put up a valiant effort, with a score of 11.97, but were unable to match up to Axe-actly on Target, who put up an impressive score of 22.37, currently sitting atop the leaderboard!
Think that you can do better? There's still a month left for this quarter, so why not get your team together and give it a go!

Five-a-side Football
Following a short break over the summer, five-a-side was back this month, with a return to our old Dunville venue! The match took some time to get going, with everyone trying to shake off the rust, but eventually the high-scoring style of football we have gotten accustomed to returned!
If you are interested in joining these matches, keep an eye out for announcements, as five-a-side will be running much more frequently now that the summer holidays are over!
