Welcome back to our monthly blog on life at Data Intellect, where we bring you the latest regional updates on social activities in the company. Each month, we’ll dive into our regular outings, social clubs, quarterly team challenges, community/charity events and much more!

Chinese New Year Lunch

The beginning of this month also marked the beginning of the Chinese New Year! To celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Wood Snake, we went out for lunch!

Due to the rave reviews last year, we went back to Lee Garden for Dim Sum this year, and the food was just as good as ever! With plenty of options to go around, it was great for everyone to get out and try some new food that they don't often get to have!

Alongside the food, this was a great chance to take a break and chat with our coworkers, to discuss our plans for the year ahead and reflect on the year passed. We wish everyone a very happy New Year!

Five-a-side

This month saw the return of five-a-side football! Despite the cold of winter still being upon us, we were able to get a group out for a match!

Despite everyone feeling rusty, and a couple nagging injuries here and there, it was great fun to get out and compete, with the added bonus of burning off all the food eaten at the Chinese New Year Lunch! There were plenty of goals to go around, with plenty of footballing talent on display!

Five-a-side will be continuing as often as possible, so keep an eye out for future events and sign up if you are interested!

Free Friday Drinks

Free Friday Drinks fell on February Fourteenth (try saying that 3 times quickly) and as always there was a great turnout! Attendees used the day to celebrate their commitment to free drinks and pizza (the true meaning of Valentine's day) with the Sunflower acting as a great host as always!

Birthdays, holidays, weddings, or whatever, it doesn't matter what's happening that day, Free Friday Drinks will be running strong on the second Friday of each month, so make sure to join us next month for even more free drinks and food!

Hiking Club

The hiking club was back this month for its second trip of the year! This month's trip was another visit to the Mournes, with the hike starting at Trassey carpark before crossing a few peaks, finally reaching the top of Slieve Commedagh and looping back around!

The weather was perfect for the hike, and should be getting brighter and warmer as we get into spring! With plenty more routes through the Mournes and many more options throughout the country, the hiking club will continue going strong each month throughout the year!

Hiking is a great way to get some fresh air and to see some spectacular views, so make sure to reach out before next month's hike if you are interested!

Hong Kong Update

The team out in Hong Kong have been busy this month, going out for their monthly dinner and drinks! This was followed by a round of darts, making the Hong Kong team (possibly) the first to take part in this month's quarterly challenge!

This was one of the many social events held in Hong Kong throughout the year, so make sure to hear all about them in future blogs!

New Year in Singapore

Continuing our theme of catching up with people who are definitely experiencing better weather than we are, the team out in Singapore were also out for drinks and dinner, this time to celebrate the beginning of the New Year!
