March Social Blog

Blog Life At Data Intellect 31 Mar 2025

Paul McVicker

Welcome back to our monthly blog on life at Data Intellect, where we bring you the latest regional updates on social activities in the company. Each month, we’ll dive into our regular outings, social clubs, quarterly team challenges, community/charity events and much more!

International Women's Day

International Women's Day falls on the 8th of March each year. This year at Data Intellect, International Women's Day celebrations involved a women's lunch at Home, alongside a brand new initiative!

Data Intellect partnered with SistersIN, a Northern Ireland based leadership program which pairs sixth-form girls with mentors who will help them with future career and leadership aspirations. This year, Hope, Ava and Carly took part in the program, which culminated in a shadow day in the Belfast office, giving them a chance to see different sides of Data Intellect, and hopefully provide inspiration for future career paths! The day also involved a 3-minute talking challenge, on topics picked at random, helping to build confidence!

We would like to thank everyone involved in organising the International Women's Day activities, and also to thank Chantelle, Aoife, Carla and Megan for volunteering to be mentors with SistersIN!

Five-a-Side

Five-a-side football was back this month, with two more sessions occurring in March! As each week goes by, everyone keeps getting better, with plenty of skill on display, and too many goals to count!

There's always a great crowd at five-a-side, with many new faces each week! If you are interested in taking part, keep a look out for any upcoming sessions! With the summer sneaking up on us, the evenings are only getting warmer, with perfect conditions for football!

Quarterly Teams Challenge

Following New York's victory last quarter, this quarter we thought we would try something new, with this quarter's challenge being Darts! If you've never seen darts before, just imagine tiny archery where everyone forgot their bow and drank lots of beer instead!

This quarter started off slow, but with a huge increase in activity coming into March, with 8 teams taking part this month! Busted entered into an early lead out of the gates, and seemed like no one could catch them! They were followed up by ELT, Belfast Bunch 1, Belfast Bunch 2, Kent and Friends, NYC1 and NYC2. However, the best were saved until last, with The Dangerous Darters swooping in during the last week to steal the top spot!

Seems like this time New York were unable to retain their title, with a late challenge coming in to seize the prize! Who will win next quarter? Follow along with future blogs to find out the details for next quarter's challenge!

Free Friday Drinks

Free Friday Drinks was back at the usual spot this month, and just so happened to coincide with the sunniest day of the year up to this point!

As always, there was free pizza and free drinks, but this time around there were some brand new faces as well! Free Friday Drinks will be back in April, and as the weather starts taking a turn for the better, there's no reason not to come along!

Comedy Night

Every Tuesday at Data Intellect is comedy day, with everyone doing their best to make each other laugh! (this may not be a real event but I'm trying really hard to make it catch on)

To give us some inspiration, we took a trip out to the empire for a comedy night! With 2 comedians on the bill, and plenty of free food and drinks, it was a great night out for everyone, and a nice break during the middle of the week!

Keep an eye out for any future comedy events! And who knows, maybe YOU can make someone laugh next Tuesday!

That's all folks!

Stay tuned for next month’s social blog, where there’s sure to be many more exciting events.

In the meantime, follow our social channels for more updates on life at Data Intellect. Ciao!
