Coffee Catchups
Coffee catchups were back this month! At Data Intellect, we believe in the importance of work life balance, and sometimes a mental break is needed. To help facilitate this, each month we have a coffee catchup, with many different sweet treats available.
This gives a chance for everyone to take a step back from work and have a chat with other members of the team, not only helping with mental wellbeing but allowing everyone to get to know their team members better!
These are just some of the many wellbeing events that are organised by Cara throughout the year, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for more!

Dragon Boat Race
This month, Data Intellect's own DISCO Dragons took part in the Dragon Boat Race in support of the Northern Ireland Hospice, raising an impressive £638.52!
This was an incredible team effort, with many fundraising events organised throughout the weeks leading up to the final race along the Lagan. To follow along with the journey from start to finish, have a look at our Dragon Boat Race blog!

Hanging out in Hong Kong
In order to practice their strategy for the minigolf Quarterly Team Challenge (ie. whacking the ball as hard as possible) the team in Hong Kong took a trip to the driving range!
This was followed by dinner and drinks, one of the many social events held throughout the year by the team in Hong Kong. Stay tuned to hear more about all of the social events held all over the world!

Free Friday Drinks
Free Friday Drinks returned this month, with an exciting new twist! After a long run at the National, it was decided that to keep things fresh a new venue would be needed, so from this month onwards Free Friday Drinks will be held at the Sunflower!
There was a great turnout for the debut of the venue, and hopefully the Sunflower keeps the winter blues at bay as we approach the end of the year!

Quarterly Challenge
The Quarterly challenge for Q3 wrapped up this month, with a huge influx of scores submitted to the leaderboard!
This month we had the Newbies, the New Yorkers, the Bogey Boys, Hole-in-won, M-L-P'otters and Talk Birdie to Me all submitting scores, but all of these teams despite their efforts (and fantastic names might I add) fell short of the top spot, which went to the Data Analytics Team!
Congratulations to Ryan, Ciaran, Aoife, Phil and Stephen for winning this quarter's challenge, and make sure to stay tuned for news about the challenge in Q4!

Surf's Up!
To end the month, some of the team took a trip up to Portrush to have a go at Surfing!
September is (allegedly) (it was very cold) the best time of the year for this and there were plenty of waves to catch! With many of the participants returning from last year, an impressive display was put on, with some of the team (not me) able to stay on the board and even able to stand up and keep their balance for a few of the bigger waves!
This was just one of many daytrips taken by Data Intellect throughout the year, and we are excited for the many more events to come!
