A quarter of the year, gone just like that! A busy March had descended on us and we welcomed it with open arms! We had a doozy of a month between our regular monthly events, visitors in the Belfast office, and teams getting in last minute entries to the Quarterly Challenge!
Not to be left out of the fun, London had a social at the end of February with visitors from Belfast joining in! And yes, I hear you. February, you say to me, surely that wouldn’t be in the March update? I’m making an executive decision because they look so polite, and because it was at the end of last month. I am going mad with power…
Love to see so many familiar faces at our close neighbour of London!
It was International Women’s day at the beginning of the month and Data Intellect had a variety of different events on over that particular week to celebrate the women in the company! We had a Women in STEM quiz alongside the Employee Appreciation Breakfast. A Ladies who lunch gathering in Belfast which is an annual tradition I’m particularly fond of!
A new initiative for this year which was spearheaded by our wonderful Chantelle was the Data Intellect Women’s Awards. It was created to recognise the amazing women making an impact in the company by providing leadership, support and inspiration! The whole company was able to nominate women across all the regions for some specific categories and we got together after the previously mentioned lunch to award the winners.
Congrats to all the winners and all those nominated!
The days are getting longer, getting brighter, and soon, Free Friday Drinks will be in the sun. In the meantime we continue on as the darkness does not dissuade us! A good few people made it out this month for drinks, but no matter how many people, we always find the right table to fit everyone…
And now I’ve jinxed it.
See you all at the next FFD!
We had a very colourful night in Belfast with the board games this month. One of the games involved describing colours without using colours. On a totally unrelated note if someone could please give me more adjectives, there’s only so many times I can give the clue of leaf or grass to make people guess the colour green. 🌳
We also had a new game amongst the auld reliables, good to mix it up a bit for a change! It involved a lot of fast talking, fast thinking, and an imposter trying to sabotage every step of the way…
Check out the board games channel for next months games night and as always, people are welcome to bring their own games!
We had a couple of last minute additions to the leader board with this month being the last month for the bowling challenge. I may or may not be a part of the late joiners but it’s better late than never!
We had entries from Belfast, Singapore, and Toronto joining the list of teams battling it out to be crowned the best bowlers, the most prestigious title we can offer. But, as always, only one team can win.
Congrats to the Toronto Terrier’s for winning!
One day I will reach the top of the wall…
We returned to bouldering to climb to new heights! We welcomed one of the visitors from the Surveillance Team on our excursion and he took to climbing like a fish to water… maybe a goat on a mountain would make more sense? Either way we climbed, we fell (safely), we reached new highs and lows, and we had fun! Thanks everyone who joined!
Check out the bouldering channel on teams for the next excursion.
Gambling for yourself 👎 Gambling for animals 👍
We’re gambling for a purpose! We had a poker night with all buy in proceeds going to Assisi Animal Sanctuary. In this case everyone wins as a total of £140 was raised for Assisi from all the players, although I’m sure some people were keeping track of the best players…
We had visitors of the Surveillance team come to the Belfast office from all parts of the world! They took over a part of the Belfast office for a week in March and ventured down to the virtual shooting range for a social.
If there is ever a zombie apocalypse I’ve been told there are a couple of people on the Surveillance Team who would be a good choice in team mate. Those skills may come in useful for the next Quarterly Teams Challenge!
