Welcome back to our monthly blog on life at Data Intellect, where we bring you the latest regional updates on social activities in the company. Each month, we’ll dive into our regular outings, social clubs, quarterly team challenges, community/charity events and much more!
Day at the Races
To kick off the month, some of the team travelled to the Down Royal Racecourse for Ladies Day. This was a great opportunity for everyone to get dressed up, have a few drinks and enjoy the festivities of the day!
The weather managed to hold nicely for everyone, and there was plenty of excitement throughout the many races that were held that day.
The whole day was a blast, with plenty of fun had by all. A huge thank you to Ciaran for planning and organising such a wonderful trip out!

Free Friday Drinks
This month, we just couldn't wait any longer, Free Friday Drinks was moved forward a week but still going strong at the Sunflower! With the cold weather finally deciding to kick in this month, it was nice to see so many faces braving the trip and having a few drinks to warm up!

Chalk GPT
The annual Data Intellect pool tournament was back this month, and it was just as popular as ever!
The singles tournament had a win or go home format through the initial rounds before changing to a best of three games format for the semi-finals and finals. This year the team tournament took a slightly different format, with two doubles games being played between each of the competing teams, adding an extra layer of skill and planning to the games!
In the end after a long and hard fought tournament, Ryan was crowned the winner of the singles tournament and Ryan, Cliona, Caitlin and Ellen were the winners of the team tournament. We would also like to give special mention to Patrick, the runner up for the singles tournament and to Toby, David and Jason for placing second in the doubles tournament. There were also special prizes given to Sarah for the best shot and Patrick for the worst shot!
Many thanks to Ryan and Cliona for organising a great tournament yet again!

Board Game Night
Data Intellect's monthly games night was back this month, with a great selection of board games, both classic and new to choose from!
As usual, everyone had a great time competing against each other, be it in terms of trivia knowledge, skill or deception, there were many ways to win!
If you're interested in taking part, keep an eye out as the board game night will be back next month!

Bake Off
This month as part of Data Intellect's on-going fundraising for Mission Christmas, a bake sale/ bake off was held in the office!
There were many great bakes to choose from, and plenty of money was raised for charity, but in the end there could only be one winner!
Our expert panel of judges tried every bake, but in the end, after some deliberation, Cara was named the winner, with the Madeleines she had made standing out above the rest! Thank you to our judges and competitors for taking part, and to everyone who donated to Mission Christmas!

Quarterly Teams Challenge
The Data Intellect Social Blog wouldn't be complete without an update on the Quarterly Teams Challenge!
This quarter the challenge is bowling, and there was a flurry of activity throughout the month, with many new teams going out and submitting their scores! This month we had Full Stack Bowlers, The Null Pointers, Livin' on a Spare and Pin-credible submitting scores from Belfast, with many new faces taking part in the competition!
Despite all these teams competing in Belfast, it was New York who set the tone this month, with NY Lane 2 competing, and NY Lane 1 overtaking 10 Pierpont Bowling for the top spot!
Think you have what it takes to beat the New Yorkers? Make sure to get out with your team and have a go!

Scotland Social Update
This is the part of the blog where I would usually show you members of the team who are experiencing the warmth and sunshine all over the world, but not this month!
This month the members of the Data Intellect team in Scotland braved the cold and rain to meet up for dinner and drinks before taking part in the Quarterly Team Challenge!
This is just one of the many social events held all over the globe! (but one of the few experiencing the colder weather like we have in Belfast!) Stay tuned for next month's blog where there'll be more updates from around the world!

Santa Abseil
To finish off the month, several members of the team took part in the Santa Abseil to help raise money for Mission Christmas! This involved abseiling from the roof of the Derry City Hotel, which is approximately 44m from the ground!
Coupled with the tail end of Storm Bert, the height and strong winds made the trip to the ground very interesting, but everyone was able to complete the abseil successfully!
The day was a huge success, as the team were able to raise £951 for Mission Christmas! A huge thank you to everyone who donated and to everyone who was brave enough to do the abseil! Follow along with our future monthly blogs to stay up to date with all future charity events!
