Data Intellect is launching a dedicated ClickHouse practice.
The practice brings our accredited ClickHouse developers and consultants together with the time-series specialists who have spent more than twenty years building and running data platforms for trading desks and quant teams. We design, build, tune and run ClickHouse platforms that hold up under the demands of capital markets.
Why ClickHouse, why now
ClickHouse’s raw query speed is well established. What decides success on a trading floor is everything around it: how data is ingested, how schemas behave under complex analytics, and how the platform recovers when a feed fails at the open. More firms across financial services are evaluating ClickHouse for analytics, reporting and real-time workloads. Many are moving off SQL Server, Oracle or legacy stores. They need partners who understand both the engine and the data it will hold.
Built on our time-series heritage
Time-series data is what we do. For over two decades our teams have built tick stores, real-time analytics and surveillance platforms for banks, hedge funds and trading firms. We know what high-frequency, historical and real-time data demands, from ingest and cleansing through to analytics and presentation.
Looking ahead: observability for AI on the trading floor
AI agents working alongside traders can generate large volumes of operational data. With appropriate instrumentation, firms can capture prompts, tool calls, and outputs as timestamped traces, helping teams investigate agent behaviour and support internal oversight. ClickHouse provides the analytical foundation to query this telemetry at scale. It already powers Langfuse, ClickHouse’s AI observability and evaluation platform, where teams can monitor latency and cost, evaluate output quality, and use production data to test improvements.
The ClickHouse practice carries that experience into a new technology. Clients get engineers who already speak the language of the desk: order books, executions, positions, risk and regulatory deadlines. We have already proved it in production. At a tier 1 bank, we replaced the SQL Server data store with ClickHouse for a cash management calculator within its inventory management system. The calculator produces near real-time funding projections for its Funding and Liquidity desks. The existing AG Grid front-end stayed in place, so users saw faster data without having to relearn their tools.
What the practice offers
| Service | What clients get |
| Proofs of concept | ClickHouse proven against a real slice of your data, with ingest pipelines, schema and query patterns delivered |
| Architecture and technology reviews | Table engines, ordering keys, partitioning, hardware and storage, query and merge tuning, sharding, security, upgrades, CI/CD and monitoring |
| Migration | Migration of analytical workloads from SQL Server, Oracle, or legacy stores to ClickHouse |
| Development and support | Embedded ClickHouse developers and time-series specialists for schemas, pipelines, query optimisation and production support |
| Data expertise | Advisory across ETL, cleansing, analytics and presentation for high-frequency, historical and real-time data |
We focus on market data analytics, execution analytics, risk and P&L analytics, and trade surveillance use-cases where ClickHouse shines.
