Requirements.

Requirements

Experience and skills required:

  • 1+ years experience providing kdb+ support to clients, ideally within Financial Services  
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or other scientific/engineering discipline
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts in layman’s terms
  • Excellent client facing skills
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
  • Analytical and problem-solving mind-set
  • Detail-orientated and results driven with a can-do attitude
  • Comfortability working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Comfortable with shift patterns and weekend work as required

Experience and skills desired*:

  • Experience with Geneos monitoring
  • Understanding of incident management processes, ideally using ServiceNow
  • Experience working with Unix

Responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Realtime monitoring of the system requiring support
  • Acting as first point of contact for clients, via email or direct messaging
  • Building new monitoring and enhancing existing monitoring for the system as it grows
  • Carrying out application releases
  • Performing system restarts during hardware maintenance or after hardware crashes
  • Investigating errors which are reported by clients and/or monitoring
  • Triaging issues reported by clients and/or monitoring and raise to development team as necessary
  • Reviewing code changes in advance of an application release
  • Ensuring good handover of all things outstanding from one shift to the next
